If you’re a cable technician, contractor, or an AV professional you probably know that Belden leads the way when it comes to top notch end-to-end signal transmission solutions for critical no-fail applications.
Belden is a world-renowned global leader offering industrial and enterprise grade cable, connectivity and networking products that meet some of the most demanding protocols needed for data, audio and video applications.
So it came as no surprise when Belden unveiled its new REVConnect connectivity system and made it available for purchase through authorized Belden distributors on September 19, 2016.
REVConnect truly revolutionizes the process of universal cable termination and provides unparalleled Reliability, Ease and Versatility – the ‘REV’ in REVConnect, as the company explains below:
“REV” is an acronym that stands for: Reliable, Easy and Versatile.
-
Reliability is driven by the nature of the connection. REVConnect features a highly reliable termination for a secure, gas-tight connection that is proven to reduce rework at all category levels.
-
Ease is driven by REVConnect’s universal wiring manager, which supports all Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A cables, as well as a single tool that covers all steps of the termination process, including cable preparation. These two features combine to provide contractors a 30-60% termination time savings.
-
The same universal core supports the system’s versatility: contractors can terminate a jack or a plug onto the same core interface. This means that field-terminable plugs, which support Cat 6A and high PoE performance, can be terminated just as quickly and easily as a jack.
Let’s take a quick look at FIVE key features of the Belden REVConnect Connectivity system:
- Single Style Termination: Supports all RJ45 (CAT 5e, CAT 6, CAT 6A) shielded and unshielded connections
- Versatile: Terminates both jacks and plugs and allows the interchanging of both easily
- Reliable: Assures a strong, dependable contact all at the time
- Quick: No need to separate pairs. Terminate bonded pairs as fast as non-bonded
- All-in-one tool: Prepare your cable and terminate – one universal tool does it all!

Belden’s VP of Global Marketing, Kristen Poulos stated, “The feedback from our installer and consultant communities was tremendous in shaping REVConnect. Beyond pushing the limits of connectivity performance, REVConnect also addresses key needs for an everyday installation: a simple, fast termination for all category cables, including UTP, shielded and Belden’s Bonded-Pair. In addition, with today’s Wave 2 wireless access points, PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras, LED lighting, and sensors, the need for a high-performing, field-terminable plug could not be ignored.”
“We feel that REVConnect is truly a game-changer, supporting the performance and power requirements of today and tomorrow while offering unprecedented time savings and versatility at the jobsite,” Poulos continued. “The core interface of REVConnect is something special, no doubt. When people see it, they will see that the eight connectors supported by it today are only just the beginning. This technology paired with Belden’s 10GXS Bonded-Pair cables demonstrates Belden’s commitment to innovation and delivering high performance products that meet the market need.”
Since the launch, industry professionals have only had good things to say. For example, At the 2016 InfoComm Conference, 97% of attendees surveyed said that REVConnect’s termination process is faster and better than similar products.

Is the male 10gx shielded assembly able to mount within the Neutrik CAT6a ethercon cable end shell?
Hey Erich,
We have a Belden 10GXS cable we stock that will work. There are several types of 10GX cable, some being larger than others. The larger diameter ones will most likely NOT fit. Feel free to call and speak with one of our Sales Associates for additional information. Thanks!
